Connecting the Air Line Trail to the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail is a project undertaken by the Jonah Center in November 2013. After years of advocacy, and with the help of Senator Matt Lesser and the RiverCOG’s Executive Director, Sam Gold, the project has gained the support of the Connecticut General Assembly, Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission, and the CT Department of Transportation.
Still, the project is ambitious and will take many years. We need citizens who support a network of trails to connect towns, places of work, schools, housing, public transportation, and commercial centers to show their support.
