Sign up for the HeatSmart walk event here.

With energy prices increasing, it’s good to remember that the cheapest energy is the energy we don’t use.
The HeatSmart Program can help us stay comfortable in extreme weather while saving money.
We’ve been busy working on our Community Partnership Initiative with the City of Middletown and Eversource; sending letters, sharing on social media and hosting an information session for landlords.
Almost 50 Middletown residents have signed up for Home Energy Assessments. That’s a great start! We’re so happy to hear positive feedback from friends and neighbors who have had this done in their homes and apartments! Energy costs are not just related to “heat”. It’s time to think about cooling costs and HeatSmart can help with that too. Go to our dedicated online site for HeatSmart Middletown to learn more about all the benefits and services of Home Energy Assessments and sign up for an appointment.
Resources for Middletown Landlords

On February 19th, a small group of Middletown rental property owners joined us at the Community Health Center to learn about rebates and incentives that can defray the cost of critical heating and cooling upgrades. Landlords have a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on many people by completing Home Energy Assessments on multi-family dwellings they own.
We created Energy Savings Packets for landlords who could not attend. ****If you or someone you know owns a rental property in Middletown, and would like to learn more, please contact Kristen Colombo at kcolombo@thejonahcenter.org to get an Energy Savings Packet.****
Thanks to Wesleyan, College of the Environment, Sustainability interns, CMC Energy Services, Eversource and CHC for graciously hosting the event. Special thanks to Vincent Loffredo, Council Member, Clean Energy Task Force, for stopping in to support this effort.
People’s Action for Clean Energy (PACE) has rallied 26 local organizations to form a proactive, organized movement to support a 100% clean energy future.

If you believe in clean air, clean water, and affordable clean energy produced in our communities, we want to get to know you better.
NiCER — the New Clean Energy Revolution — is the first coordinated statewide clean energy mobilization of its kind in Connecticut. Already 26 environmental and clean energy organizations across Connecticut are working together through NiCER — and the movement continues to grow. Why? Collective action is more powerful.
As the movement grows, we want to know more about seasoned advocates and those just starting the clean energy journey. Are you already working on clean energy solutions — or just starting to explore ways to help? Either way, please take less than 10 minutes to complete this survey to join this new network of clean energy rock stars.
Your responses will help connect people, strengthen collaboration, and shape the next phase of Connecticut’s clean energy movement.
A clean energy future won’t happen by chance. It will happen because people across Connecticut build it together.
