Our “Paddle With A Purpose” schedule for 2025 is below. We need volunteer paddlers to help us remove invasive water chestnut plants from local waterways. A limited number of loaner kayaks are available for Middletown paddles only (see below).

Paddles in the “Floating Meadows” in Middletown will launch from the boat launch at 181 Johnson Street.  Paddles in Pecausett Pond in Portland launch from Portland Boat Works at 1 Grove Street.

The 2025 paddle dates scheduled so far are as follows:

Sat. May 24 @ 9 a.m. — Floating Meadows in Middletown.

Sat. June 7 @ 9 a.m. — Floating Meadows in Middletown

Tues, June 17 @ 7 p.m. — Pecausett Pond in Portland — special near solstice & moonlight event. No loaner kayaks available.

Sat. June 21 @ 9 a.m. — Floating Meadows in Middletown

Sat. July 5 @ 9 a.m. — Floating Meadows in Middletown

Tues. July 15 @ 6 p.m. — Pecausett Pond in Portland . No loaner kayaks available.

Sar. July 19 @ 9 a.m. — Floating Meadows in Middletown

Please use the Paddle Registration Form to register for any of the dates listed above. By registering, you will receive last-minute news on changes of plans due to weather or other factors.

To borrow a kayak, paddlers must also register with the CT River Conservancy (which owns the loaner kayaks) well in advance of the paddle date .
