Public Input Needed For Complete Streets Projects

Middletown’s Complete Streets Committee and the Jonah Center will be conducting a Public Information and Input meeting regarding current projects on Monday, June 9, at 7 PM in Room 208 of City Hall, 245 deKoven Drive.  This will be a good opportunity to learn more about what’s going on with bike paths, sidewalks and multi-use trails in and around town.

The committee is looking for feedback from the public on current projects and is also open for suggestions about new areas for improvement.

A major new initiative is a study of the 4 main corridors in Middletown: Washington St., Newfield St., South Main St., and Saybrook Road. Citizen input and support is necessary for the design of construction of road safety improvements. Other current projects are:

  • Central CT Loop Trail  (Air Line Trail – Farmington Canal Trail Connector Route)
  • Newfield Corridor Trail
  • Saybrook Road Improvements (East Main to Tryon)
  • Route 9 Middletown Renovations
  • Automated Traffic Enforcement Safety Devices / traffic cameras
